British rock band Muse are touring to China for the first time.

The band will perform at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai on Sept 21. Presented by AEG Live, the live-entertainment division of Los Angeles-based AEG, the show will see the band play several of their popular hits, including their seventh studio album, Drones, which will be released on June 8.

Formed in Devon in the mid-' 90s, Muse's early material was likened to Radiohead, and their debut album Showbiz, which featured the hit singles Sunburn and Unintended, was a critical and commercial success.

Lead vocalist-guitarist-keyboardist Matthew Bellamy, bassist-guitarist Christopher Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard have sold more than 15 million albums.

The band has established themselves as one of the leading acts in British rock music, with a string of hit albums. Their energetic live shows, are known for their imagery and impressive special effects.
