With the perfect combination of Mediterranean and Asian fusion styles, Iberian guest Chef Joaquin Campos brings tasteful Spanish delights with a personalized twist to Hilton Beijing's One East, an award winning restaurant, from September 22nd to 27th, 2014.

Self-taught Spanish chef Joaquin Campos describes his style as "healthy, grandmother cuisine", with a focus on the best ingredients to simple preparation with irresistible flavors. With over ten years of professional culinary experience, his strengths lie in kitchen design, customer service, menu structuring, dining presentation and personnel training. Campos has worked in some of Spain's most exclusive hotels and restaurants perfecting the various country's culinary styles.

Campos has a keen interest in "market cuisine" with fresh products and enjoys preparing foods using only ingredients available each day at the local market. His passion helped him excel at the reputed Torres China program as culinary operations manager. His experience in the Torres program took him to 12 Chinese cities, including Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu. In all those cities he had to rely solely on local Chinese chefs who provided local ingredients.

Due to his outstanding success, he also had the chance to work in South Korea, Mongolia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and throughout Mainland China. During his time in China and South-East Asia he has participated in shows slicing Iberian Ham and designed menus based on Iberian ham for special events.

"We at One East, pride ourselves by showcasing two or three culinary events a year to expose guests and staff to a truly international experience. Working with the local chefs to make sure that our guests enjoy the traditional Spanish tasteful delights with a twist of East," said Stefan Schmid, general manager of the hotel. "Chinese people are very curious about Spain mainly through sports. We want them to know that there's more to discover in Spain, namely its wonderful gastronomy."
