The horse and the dragon feature as Chinese people traditionally use the two animals to symbolize an enterprising spirit. In the Chinese lunar calendar, the Year of the Horse begins on January 31.
This year will be the 20th anniversary of the lantern show at Yuyuan Garden. The show will delight onlookers until the Lantern Festival which falls on February 14, or the 15th day of the first month in the lunar calendar this year.
