Large boutique-feel hotel in historic Old Town

The Yu Gardens branch of this Marriott-owned chain is conveniently located for the historic tourist attractions of the Old Town, as well as being a short taxi ride from the Bund. The decor is fairly 'business chain'-esque with loud, swirly carpets and oversized flower arrangements, but rooms are bright, reasonably spacious and some have fabulous views over the traditional sloping roofs of the Yu Garden pavilions.

The six restaurants and bars include a contemporary Chinese restaurant, sushi joint, terrace cafe and a gourmet deli, while a dip in the striking infinity pool - complete with 180-degree views of the city - is the highlight of the available leisure options.
