Spring sightseeing at Qingming Festival

In China, winter is officially over and you can see the flowers and greenery start to bring the landscape to life. The Qingming Festival holiday has been a good opportunity for people to enjoy the springtime scenery.

It's truly a good time to take a walk in nature. In east China's Jiangsu Province, many head into the moutains early in the morning to get the best views. It's a great opportunity to enjoy the scenery and the scent of Spring here at this park.

A tourist said, "It's very refreshing out here. I love the mountains and green trees. They're great gifts of nature. "

Shen Chen, park manager, said, "We've been very busy. During this short holiday, the tourist volume is expected to be 30 to 40 percent higher than last year. "

In Wuxi of Jiangsu Province, many drive out of the city to scenic spots around Taihu Lake, one of the biggest freshwater lakes in China. For some it's a family day out.

Besides the beautiful scenery, tourists are also treated to traditional performances. In Yangzhou, a group of actors perform a royal sacrifice ceremony from the Ming Dynasty, some 500 years ago.

Spring has come to most parts of China, but in Jiuzhaigou of Sichuan Province, winter still seems to linger on. The snow comes as a plesant surprise for many. And the famous scenic spot turns into a snowy wonderland.
