The China International Young Fashion Designers Contest, also known as The Hempel Award, is an important part of China Fashion Week. In the past 21 years, it has served as a major platform for talented young designers. This year's winners have been unveiled.

Young designers from 25 countries and regions present a fashion feast at the Hempel Award Contest.

The theme of this year's competition is "boundaries", which designers are encouraged to break. Imagination and creativity are the keys to success.

As a result, designers use natural materials such as bamboo chips, withered flowers, and hemp ropes.

In the end, it's Beijing-based Wang Zhixian who wins the gold award. Her productions blend traditional Chinese elements with modern designs.

Wang Zhixian, Designer, said, "Just like the Chinese elements in my creations, designers from other countries also employ elements from their own cultures. So, I think this contest is a good opportunity for us to communicate with foreign designers and to learn from them."

Christina Sieber from Germany and Wang Liqun, who is also from Beijing, win the silver and bronze prizes, respectively.

Launched in 1993, the Hempel Award is one of the most influential design contests in China. Some 24 thousand young fashion designers from all around the world have participated in it. Many of them have gone onto greater things.
