The Shanghai China Art Museum has its own eye-catching event coming up.
A month after the opening of the 19th century French artwork from the Musee d'Orsay at the museum, another exhibit of French art masterpieces from the Centre Pombidou will open there on December 16th.
On Saturday, 65 cases containing 102 groups of art including videos, paintings, sculptures and manuscripts, arrived at the museum. It's the first exhibit in which the Centre Pombidou, a leading museum of modern and contemporary art, has worked with a public art museum in China.
The exhibit will be divided into six categories, each starting with a masterpiece in different themes of Surrealism, including the artwork of Marcel Duchamp, the father of Dadaism. The new exhibit, entitled "Electric Fields: Surrealism and Beyond", runs through March 15th next year.
