A record 1.12 million people took the annual national public servant exam on Sunday, hoping to gain a coveted government service position. In the meantime, an exhibition opened in Kaifeng, in central China's Henan Province, to showcase its ancient counterpart - the Imperial Exam.

The exhibition features items related to the last Imperial Exam held in Kaifeng during the Qing Dynasty. They include the examination papers, the admission tickets for the exam, and some of the homework test takers had to endure.

Acutal exams taken by some the "Number One Scholars" are also included. And to top it off, study supplies such as writing brushes, ink sticks, paper and inkstones from the Qing and Ming Dynasties are also on display.
