A collection of 19th century paintings from France's Musee d'Orsay are on display in China's commercial hub of Shanghai. The exhibition includes 87 paintings by French Naturalists including Gustave Courbet and Jean-Francois Millet.

Art lovers are in for a treat!

A total of 87 masterpieces dating from the mid-19th century to the early 20th century by artists in the French Naturalism movement are on display at the China Art Museum in Shanghai. A lot of them are being shown in China for the first time.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is Millet's "The Gleaners", which depicts three women searching for wheat after the harvest. It was created in 1857.

Organizer Teng Junjie said, "It's a very large exhibition. We are expecting many art lovers from Asia to visit the exhibition. It's truly an art feast."

The China Art Museum in Shanghai said the show, which was assembled in 11 months, is the largest international exhibition hosted by the museum since it opened in October.

The China Art Museum is expecting 3,000 visitors a day for the exhibition, which runs for more than three months to February next year.
