Beijing's tourism industry has thrived on robust sightseeing activities as the city is rich in cultural heritages. An exhibition featuring the capital's tourism spots has opened in Hong Kong.

Hundreds of photos showcase different aspects of Beijing. At the exhibition hall, staff from various tourist companies are on site to answer questions from Hong Kong residents. Organizers are hoping this event will increase Hong Kong residents' knowledge of Beijing and their interest in visiting the capital.

The city of Beijing boasts a history of more than 3 thousand years. The city served as the capital to several dynasties of ancient China. It is rich in cultural and historical sites such as the Old Summer Palace, Forbidden City and more.

According to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, the total visitor arrivals in Beijing exceeded 200 million in 2011.
