Shenzhen Grand Theater Philharmonic Orchestra will once again present a free concert at Shenzhen Grand Theater on March 3.

Free tickets can be obtained at 10 a.m. Jan. 15 at the theater on a first-come-first-served basis. By showing your ID card, you can claim two tickets.

The repertoire includes "Ode to Red Flag", "Thunder and Lightning Polka", "Carman Overture," "The Blue Danube Waltz", "Hungary Dance", "Czardas" and "Beijing's Good News to the Border Village."

Shenzhen Grand Theater Philharmonic Orchestra is the second symphony orchestra named after a grand theater in China. It consists of about 80 artists who are enthusiastic about symphony music and is dedicated to the promotion of it. They graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, among others. Eighty percent of them are currently working as music teachers in the city, while the others working in some commercial organizations or government institutions. The orchestra premiered Oct. 21 last year, attracting 1,200 audiences.

With Shenzhen Grand Theater as its performing base, the orchestra plans to hold four kinds of concerts periodically — theme symphony concerts which focus on playing classical symphony works; special concerts for special occasions such as New Year's concerts; chamber music concerts; and concerts of popular and elegant musical works.
