(ECNS) -- Chinese tech heavyweight ByteDance launched the domestic version of its AI programming tool, Trae, on Monday. Powered by the doubao-1.5-pro model, Trae supports the full-version of DeepSeek R1 & V3.
Trae is China’s first AI-native integrated development environment (AI IDE), designed to help developers collaborate seamlessly with AI in coding speed and quality.
With this release, ByteDance has now covered the global AI programming tools market. The overseas version of Trae was launched in January and supported by its subsidiary SPRING PTE.
Trae offers a wide range of applications. For instance, if a developer inputs a request in natural language, such as “Create a forum with a user login function,” Trae can quickly generate a foundational code framework, including front-end pages and database connections, avoiding the need to start from scratch.
Gartner, an American technological research and consulting firm, predicts that by 2028, AI-assisted programming adoption will exceed 75 percent. As the software development industry enters an AI-driven era, global companies have already introduced tools like Cursor, Windsurf, and GitHub Copilot.
