(ECNS) -- China's mobile social media network WeChat announced on Tuesday its users can now make payments on the App Store, according to media report.

WeChat, run by Internet giant Tencent, said mainland users can easily add WeChat as a payment method for iTunes or apps. But this only works on Apple's latest iOS 10.3 update or above.

Apple said it's happy to see WeChat users can pay for their favorite apps or music, vowing to further make payments easier.

It added Alibaba's digital wallet, the other main mobile payment method in China, to its payment options last year. Apple hopes to make it even easier for people to spend some cash on the App Store.
