(ECNS) -- The Ministry of Education has discouraged eastern Chinese colleges from attracting talents from counterparts in mid-western and northeastern regions, where economic development is less competitive.
Accordingly, the ministry's said colleges in eastern regions would instead be supported to send their talents to work in mid-western and northeastern areas to help bring vitality there.
The suggestion stipulated that China would give priority to attracting first-class scientists, academic leaders and innovative teams from overseas to work at local universities.
It added more policies should be introduced to make life and work for overseas professionals easier across China. Universities are advised to make innovations in the management of high-caliber overseas talents.
Other suggestions include joint cooperation between colleges, research institutes and companies in order to realize scientific breakthroughs.
