(ECNS) -- While many want a fleet of luxury cars as part of their wedding ceremony, a young man in central China's Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, led a band of 50 shared bike riders to greet his bride on their big day.

The green public bikes, which anyone can rent with a smartphone, were all bedecked with colorful balloons while riders all wore red T-shirts. The two most distinctive bikes used for the couple carried bunches of flowers.

The groom, 28, led the fleet to a hotel to greet his 26-year-old bride who was preparing there. They then cycled to a restaurant to continue the ceremony to the surprises and good wishes of pedestrians along the road.

The university classmates-turned-lovers have been in a relationship for six years and are both working in Zhengzhou.

It was the bride's idea to use the shared two-wheelers due to their environmental and economic characteristics.

The cost to rent all the bikes totaled less than 50 yuan ($7). In comparison, it requires 3,000 yuan to 5,000 yuan to hire a fleet of cars for a local greeting ceremony.
