(ECNS) -- Amid the ongoing anti-corruption drive in China, new forms of bribery are springing up, including the use of ride-hailing cars to deliver gifts.

The report said that a week ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival that started on Sept. 15, a driver took eight orders at a car-hailing service, but the driver was only ordered to send items, not passengers, to destinations.

The driver said the packages were supposed to be gifts and the whole process remained mysterious, as the packages were to be sent to a specified person instead of the reception office. He joked that he became a delivery man.

Four of the other eight drivers offering car-hailing services at the same company also reported delivering gifts instead of people to certain destinations.

The use of car-hailing services to send and take bribes is thought to be a better way to hide identities and skirt anti-corruption regulations, according to CCTV. At the same time, the driver, registered with a company, can be quickly found if something goes wrong in the deal.

Other forms of bribery also include electronic coupons and money transfers on the popular messaging app WeChat.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China, China's top anti-corruption body, has announced violations of party discipline, including travel at public expense, ahead of the National Day holiday that starts on Oct. 1.
