(ECNS) -- Beijing plans to place flower decorations all made via 3D printing on Tian'anmen Square and along Chang'an Avenue to celebrate this year's National Day on Oct 1.
Visitors will get to experience good-quality, delicate designs including a structure set amid a flower terrace in the design of Zhaozhou Bridge, a 1,400-year-old stone arch in Hebei Province.
The printed bridge will be 28 meters long and 6 meters wide, built with 20,000 bricks and strong enough to sustain a real vehicle. Inside the bricks will be typical flowers from countries along the "Belt and Road" initative.
Other designs include themes from the Winter Olympics to be held in Beijing and Zhangjiakou in 2022, "Belt and Road" initiative and Long March, which celebrates its 80th anniversary this year.
According to the plan revealed on Thursday, preparation of the annual display will start on the night of Sept 17 after Beijing Marathon concludes and finish on Sept 25. Visitors can enjoy these decorations until mid-October, said a Beijing Morning Post post.
The central display at Tian'anmen Square will feature a gigantic flower basket 17 meters high, with the biggest peony flower 3 meters in diameter.
There will be more than 200 flower displays at different sites in Beijing and over 15 million flowers in total.
