(ECNS) -- No official source has confirmed speculation that China will restrict South Korean stars on their visits to the mainland in retaliation for Seoul's decision to install an American-made missile defense system, Beijing Youth Daily reported.

Current Chinese entertainment programs featuring South Korean pop stars, such as Psy, bands iKON and MONSTA X for Jiangsu TV, Kim Sung-joo for Dragon TV and Song Min Ho for Internet giant Tencent, are all aired normally, the report said.

Films starring South Korean actors either premiered or are being shot according to schedules, without change.

Over the TV networks, there's no change to the airing of KBS TV drama "Uncontrollably Fond" on Chinese Internet behemoth Youku, and Kim Woo-bin and Bae Suzy who starred in the romantic drama will meet fans on Aug. 6, as planned. Another South Korean TV drama will also be aired on Aug. 29.

Also, in the live concert sector, K-pop star Jang Keun Suk finished the Shenzhen show of his Asia Tour on July 30. It's rumored that South Korean boy band EXO cancelled their show scheduled in Shanghai in late August, but insiders told the newspaper that the real reason was the sudden change of a concert into a fan meeting on March 26.

China firmly opposed the deployment of a U.S. THAAD anti-missile system in South Korea, warning that the move may destabilize the Korean Peninsula. South Korean pop music and TV dramas are highly popular in China.
