(ECNS) -- Among the Hollywood talent and directors on hand Saturday night to fete the opening of the Shanghai International Film Festival, actor Ian McKellen showed his sense of humor by promoting himself at a popular blind date locale.
On Saturday afternoon, McKellen, best known for playing "Gandalf" in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, joined the crowd at the People's Park in Shanghai, a corner known for gathering lines of parents who sit behind self-made posters to look for spouses for their children.
McKellen held up a poster with his personal information: Ian, 5-foot-11, 77 years, Cambridge University, house in London, still active.
In another picture posted by the British Council on the Twitter-like social media site Weibo, the actor was holding another poster with Shakespeare's line "Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind."
