(ECNS) -- Security guards at a residential community have been seen wearing uniforms reserved for soldiers in violation of rules that regulate dress.
An Internet user shared photos showing a guard wearing Type-07 Woodland Camouflage used by the People's Liberation Army while at Tianewan Community in Beijing's Chaoyang District.
The guard also wore a military cap and boots, stood at attention and performed military salutes to cars going in as if he were a soldier.
An investigation found the uniforms were provided by the community's new property management company. Local residents welcomed the image and said it looked more formal.
A guard said they receive training two hours a day under the supervision of three retired soldiers.
According to the Regulation on the Administration of Security and Guarding Services that took effect on Jan. 1, 2010 security guards are required to wear clothes distinctive from the official uniforms of soldiers, police and law-enforcement departments.
The property management company, which employs 50 guards in the community, said it might organize a press conference to answer questions about the suspected wrong use of military uniforms.
