(ECNS) – A trip from Beijing to Shanghai Disney Resort may cost more than trips to other domestic amusement parks, but is still less expensive than Hong Kong or Tokyo Disneyland, Beijing Morning Post reported.

Data from travel booking systems showed the average per capita spending for a trip from Beijing to Shanghai Disney was 2,300 yuan (about $350), which covered accommodation (600 yuan for two nights at a four-star hotel), airfares (1,200 yuan) and admission tickets (499 yuan).

Shanghai Disney said the resort's pricing was based on extensive market research, and the needs of Chinese visitors were given full consideration.

Data from Ctrip.com, China's leading online travel agency, showed residents in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen were most enthusiastic about Shanghai Disney, occupying the top three places in terms of number of bookings made for the resort.

Family trips accounted for more than half of all bookings, with couples more than 30 percent, said Ctrip.com.
