(ECNS) -- A press conference for Time Raiders thoroughly surprised attendants at Radisson Blu 1835 Hotel in Cannes on Thursday.

The Chinese adventure & suspense movie, with famous Hong Kong director Daniel Lee Yan-Kong at its helm and popular novelist Uncle Three as author, produced by Tian Xiang Production Company, is co-launched by Shanghai Film Group, Le Vision Pictures and Nanpai Entertainment. The event was attended by the director, author & script writer alongside leading actors Boran Jing, Sichun Ma and Indian actress Mallika Sherawat.

A conceptual poster specially designed for Cannes Festival, characterized by traditional Chinese tomb raiding themes, was unveiled during the press conference, together with the trailer.

At the time, chief producer Zhonglun Ren strongly recommended the movie while Uncle Three highlighted its ancient Oriental inheritance. Director Daniel Lee Yan-Kong said the movie not only told an original story, but also reflected high standards of industrialization. Boran Jing and Sichun Ma both liked the action parts and Mallika Sherawat, the chance of representing China on the international red carpet.

TRAIlER FILLED WITH FRESHNESS, STIMULUS AND SUSPENSE

Before departure from China, a set of posters showing relations between different roles drew great attention from fans. This time in Cannes, the first movie trailer finally revealed part of the story. In it, Boran Jing and Han Lu explore an underground world, while Jingchun Wang and Sichun Ma fire at each other. Unknown traps are located everywhere, and everybody is surrounded by danger. The audience could immediately step into a world of adventure and astonishment.

ACTORS PROMOTING TIME RAIDERS IN CANNES

At Thursday's media conference, Boran Jing said it was the second time he had come to Cannes, and hoped the public would love the film. When asked "Do you prefer playing the more psychological scenes with Han Lu or action parts with Sichun Ma?" Jing explained that he enjoyed both. It was the first time he has performed this much martial, he confessed, saying shooting was "really hard". Usually, he practiced the action scenes when others were acting, and when they were having a rest, it was his turn to act.

This time, Sichuan Ma changed her sweet and fragile style. Short hair and a leather coat gave her a more Americanized and sexy style. She also affirmed that shooting was hard, but that she got a lot of encouragement from Jing and Lu. The character A Ning is also the most masculin role she has ever played. "Exploration has always been an arduous journey, so to be "man" is not bad. Now we are talking about 'boyfriend force max', for me, I have the 'girl force max'," she said.

Mallika Sherawat said she was very happy to have the chance of staring in a Chinese movie, and is convinced she was perfect for the job.

Time Raiders tells a story filled with intelligence and strategy: Xieyin Wu, passionate about ancient architecture, accidentally sets off on an adventure, accompanied by Qiling Zhang, A Ning, Pan Zi, and Pang Zi.
