(ECNS) -- A well-designed glass room hanging from a cliff is expected to add appeal and adventure for tourists at Baohu Lake scenic spot in Zhangjiajie City, Central China's Hunan Province.
The capsule-like room is 3.2 meters long, 1.6 meters wide, and weighs 180 kilograms, enough to house one or two people.
Tied to the cliff with alloy-steel wires 30 meters above the lake, the transparent structure integrates the style of the Tujia ethnic group, particularly its iconic stilted architecture. Inside the room is a bed and ornaments unique to the Tujia people.
The room's builder Liu Shuangqi said the room is very safe and can be moved anytime without damage to the landscape.
The lake administration said tourists in the glass room will have a good view of the lake in the daytime and gaze at the twinkling stars at night.
To make the journey more adventurous, the administration plans to invite tourists to climb the cliff first before entering the room.
But it added that the room is not yet ready to receive guests, as problems like a working toilet and food services have not been solved.
Zhangjiajie, a famous tourist destination in China, boasts a range of natural beauty including mountains, valleys, forests, lakes and waterfalls.
