(ECNS) -- Beijing's tourism authority said incidents like the recent assault on a female hotel guest will affect a hotel's credit rating, local Chinese language newspaper The Mirror reports.

In the sensational assault that went viral on the Internet, a man tried to drag a woman into a lift on the fourth floor at a Yitel hotel run by budget operator Home Inns & Hotels Management Inc.

The victim, who herself posted the video of the attack on her Weibo account, said she called the police and reported the assault to the management of Yitel Hotel, but to no avail.

Beijing's Municipal Commission of Tourism Development is currently drafting a guideline on a rating system to assign specific scores to and administrate tourism agencies, sightseeing spots, hotels guides and tourists, an official of the commission said.

The system will be further developed based on the current management system of the commission, it was added.

Insiders said tourism businesses and agencies that violate the legal rights of tourists will be put on a blacklist.

Beijing police are still investigating the hotel incident and while the operator has issued an apology. The tourism authority in Chaoyang District is also investigating the assault.
