(ECNS) -- Fearless Swiss tightrope artist Freddy Nock has won a championship and added to his collection of world records with a successful 100-meter race of 42.4 seconds between two mountain peaks in Wulong, southwest China's Chongqing.
The 2016 Wulong Tiankeng International Tightrope Walking Competition was held March 30 atop Tiankeng at Wulong county's Three Natural Bridges Scenic Spot, attracting top tightrope walking masters from China, Switzerland, and Italy.
The Swiss stuntman mastered a rope strung about 300 meters above ground.
China's Aisikaier Wubulikasimu and Italy's Zavatta, as well as the Swiss national, are all world-record holders, the report said.
Aisikaier, who holds several world records, including for fastest walk across a rope in 38.86 seconds, is sixth generation of the ethnic Uighur group.
Nock, who holds 22 world tightrope titles, has broken seven world records in as many days.
Zavatta, born into an acrobatic performance family, is a world record-holder for tightrope invert walking and steep tightrope walking.
Nock nearly fell during his walk, but was able to adjust his position.
