(ECNS) -- A video clip from Twitter-like Weibo showing a dog-like animal walking in a wolf enclosure of a zoo in Dezhou, east China's Shandong Province, went viral on Wednesday.

"It has a Husky-Alaskan-mix look, wandering lamely within the enclosure. It's dangerous to put a dog among wolves, which are so sensitive to their own territories," said a man surnamed Wang (pseudo) who shot the video and later posted it online.

Seen from the footage, the dog-like animal is obviously larger than a wolf in size and has longer hair. It hobbles around with its left front leg injured and hung in the air.

The video aroused heated discussion online, questioning which breed the animal is. Some suspect the zoo mixes dogs with the wolf pack.

It was later found that the animal is a Husky-wolf mongrel, according to a zoo feeder.

It walks around comfortably, not afraid of wolves at all.

"Further identification from expertsis needed to determine whether it’s a dog or a wolf,” it was added.

Another zoo staff member said the "Husky" was brought to the zoo along with wolves and lived with them since then.

The zoo later said the dog gets along well enough with the wolves as they have lived together for more than two months.

The injury was from a random scratch attained in the enclosure and the dog was treated right away, it was added.

It has since been separated from wolves following the online report.
