(ECNS) -- The world's most cold-resistant man resides in China.

Jin Songhao, in his shorts and a baseball cap, set up a new world record by taking the longest bath inside a box of ice cubes.

The 60-year-old hails from Jiamusi city, northeast China's Heilongjiang province. Jin broke the record on a reality show called "Challenge the Impossible"broadcast by the state-owned China Central Television (CCTV) on September 13.

"After 113 minutes I felt cold and it was hard to speak properly," Jin said. "The host asked me whether I wanted to give up. But I was there to smash the record. So I grit my teeth and held on for two more minutes."

Jin set up the previous record of 113 minutes and 10 seconds last year.

He started cold-resistance training in 1986 and says his dream is to go to the south and north poles to experience temperatures there.
