(ECNS) -- A survey has shown that Beijing residents spent 378 yuan ($59.38) per person for online goods or services during the first half of 2015, with a year-on-year growth of 59.5 percent, Beijing Morning Post reports.
It showed 37.7 percent of those polled spent 20 to 40 percent of their annual expenditure on the Internet, while 20.5 percent of the respondents spent more than 40 percent.
Co-conducted by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and National Bureau of Statistics Beijing Survey Office, the survey, featuring "Internet plus life service", revealed Beijing residents' acceptance of life services on the Internet has reached 70 to 90 percent, while of those respondents who have experienced such services, 74.9 percent are quite satisfied.
Traditional service industries have stretched their attention to the Internet, developing various applications and services, which have changed people's habits to deal with daily issues. About 66.7 percent of respondents prefer doing payments and financing via online banks, while over 60 percent prefer shopping online, and 84.8 percent reading.
The Internet has improved the convenience of people's daily lives and the efficiency of public services. Shopping, financing and life services online are considered the top three aspects that have a great influence on life.
Meanwhile, 44.4 percent of respondents look forward to more convenient lives with "Internet plus life services", and 39.4 percent expect better transportation, and 35.1 percent that the Internet could help relieve the difficulty of accessing medical services.
