(ECNS) - A 59-year-old retiree has choreographed what many Chinese say is the "most visually disturbing" dance, performed by a group of grandmothers in half-black and half-white costumes.

In a video that has gone viral in China, the elderly dancers wear two-tone suits and silver eye masks while dancing to music from the opera "Carmen" in a square in Luoyang city, Central China's Henan province.

The dancers hold hands, roll their arms, stretch their legs while moving forward, and change their posture simultaneously along with the rhythm of the music.

They resemble the black and white keys of a piano, and the only difference is that it's a vertical piano moving right in front of spectators' eyes, the Zhengzhou Evening News reported.

Some people said it was so dazzling that it was hard to believe it was performed by elderly women. Others said they felt dizzy watching it, but still supported the performers' daring spirit.

The choreographer, Su Jianfang, previously worked in food manufacturing in Luoyang, one of the cradles of Chinese civilization. She became interested in public dancing after visiting her daughter in Shenzhen, one of the most economically developed cities in southern Guangdong province.

"I fell in love with dancing the moment I saw it in Shenzhen," Su said.

More than a just passionate dancer, Su created a set of bodybuilding exercises that became popular in Luoyang in 2013. Su's greatest achievement was leading a group of about 10,000 people in a dance.

Although Su suffers from a physical ailment, she enjoys dancing and draws inspiration from streaming video sites.

Su is also known for being devoted to public welfare, and won the honor of "Most Beautiful Mother" in Luoyang as a recognition of her kindness. Whenever a natural disaster occurs, she often donates money from her pension to assist others.

Su said she wants to perform the dance in a national talent show, and also help a seven-year-old girl find her parents. The girl, who hasn't seen her parents in three years, is being looked after by her 61-year-old grandfather and 91-year-old great grandmother in Luoyang's Yiyang county.
