(ECNS) -- China's football authority no longer allows drones to shoot live video footage during top league games.

Without permission from the relevant authority, drones are prohibited from reporting football games in the Chinese Super League (CSL) and the China League (CL) due to broadcasting copyright considerations, said the Chinese Football Association (CFA) in an online statement on Thursday.

CFA noticed drones appeared in some games during CSL's fifth round and consequently issued the statement.

Broadcasters are required to apply 30 days in advance for permission to use drones for reporting, it was added.
