(ECNS) -- A LaFerrari, worth 22-million yuan ($3.55 million), has crashed in Shanghai, setting a new record in China for the most expensive single-car accident, according to xinmin.cn.

The red-colored luxury car crashed amidst a rain burst on Tuesday night.

With its front damaged and a wheel dislocated, police on the scene stated that no other vehicle was involved in the accident while the driver, who suffered no significant injury, was not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The car was towed away around midnight.

LaFerrari is available in limited edition with only 499 in use globally.
