(ECNS) - Zhou Qunfei, chairwoman of Apple touch-screen glass supplier Lens Technology, has become the richest woman in China, the Changsha Evening News reported Tuesday.

Zhou holds 592 million shares of Lens Technology worth 42.02 billion yuan ($6.77 billion).

Shares in the company rose to 33.11 yuan from the offering price of 22.99 yuan after its Shenzhen Stock Exchange debut on March 18. Lens Tech then closed at 70.98 yuan after soaring above the daily limit for eight consecutive trading days.

Zhou has surpassed Chen Lihua, a real estate tycoon with net assets of $6.1 billion.

Meanwhile, Lens Technology has also rocketed to the top three in the Second-board Market, with market capitalization of 47.795 billion yuan, right after eastmoney.com (49.821 billion yuan) and letv.com (76.54 billion yuan).

Zhou was reportedly 20 years old when she left her hometown in Central China's Hunan province for a factory job in the southern city of Shenzhen. There, she learned how to set up her own glass manufacturing business and founded the company in 2003.
