(ECNS) - A man from Zhejiang province has made an Eiffel Tower model out of bamboo sticks.

Yao Shunxiang, 68, spent nearly four months building the one-meter-high tower using bamboo sticks of various lengths.

The retired accountant had never attempted the handicraft before, and sought guidance from a website and online audio to learn how to chop, peel and glue the pieces together.

After repeated practice, Yao designed and built a complete model of the main body of the Eiffel Tower, including the tower bottom, tower top and observation deck.

Yao got the idea for the model after his wife sent him a small bamboo house as a present.

Yao said he enjoys a creative challenge, and that his next task is to create a bamboo building for his wife.
