(ECNS) - A construction company has built a 57-story building within 19 days in Changsha city, central China's Hunan province, cankaoxiaoxi.com reported on Tuesday.

Erected by Broad Sustainable Building, a prefab building company under the Broad Group, the more than 200-meter-tall construction covers 180,000 square meters and includes more than 800 appartments.

Parts of the building were assembled in much the same way as lego blocks, by being stacked on top of each other. The project was carried out around the clock.

It's built from sustainable and modular building materials, 95 percent of which were prefabricated in factories, according to the Broad Group. It's also 80 percent more energy efficient than conventional buildings, it says.

The company built the 6-story Broad Pavilion in one day during the Shanghai Expo 2010, the 15-story New Ark's Hotel in 6 days in June 2010, and a 30-story hotel prototype in 15 days in 2011.
