China to set up TCM master's, doctorate degrees   

我国独立设置中医专业学位 分博士、硕士两级

(ECNS) -- China will set up master's and doctorate degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Ministry of Education announced on its official website.

Accordingly, specialized training units will award students TCM master's and doctorate degrees after they pass professional exams, thesis defenses and clinical assessments.

TCM research and practice should integrate case studies, scientific exercise, lectures and seminars.

The goal of the new scheme in TCM education is to pass down expert experience and stimulate student learning through a tutor-led system of scientific research and the active use of standardized training, acceding to the ministry.

The purpose is to improve the quality of TCM education, foster high-quality practitioners and promote educational development in China.
