(ECNS) -- Police are hunting suspects involved in electromagnetic interference at Dalian International Airport, Northeast China's Liaoning province.
Four airplanes couldn't make a normal landing due to disruption on the night of January 9. The situation continued for about half an hour.
It was later found that an illegal radio station that touted the sale of drugs caused the interference.
The small radio-like device, including a one-meter-long antenna, was seized the next day, though the suspect got away.
Zhang Libin of Dalian Radio Monitoring Station said the device is powerful enough to cover the entire city and seriously disturb the function of signals during landing and take-off.
