(ECNS) -- A labyrinth of some 70 utility poles has been spotted in a 300-meter-long area of sidewalk in Beihai city of Guangxi, a newspaper said.
Only a small number of the poles support overhead power lines, the local power supply bureau said, adding that the others have been erected for public utilities such as cable, optical fiber and other equipment.
Poles erected by different departments have overlapped, the bureau said.
Pedestrians have to risk injury by walking on the road.
