(ECNS) – In a letter to employees after the release of Apple's quarterly earnings report on October 20, Apple CEO Tim Cook disclosed his plan to meet with Apple store employees in Beijing.

"Later this week, I'll be talking with a group of Apple employees in Beijing," Cook said in the letter. He also wrote that the meeting will be recorded and posted on the company's internal website, and that all Apple employees are encouraged to submit questions for the Q&A session.

In the letter, Cook praised the company's growth and the contribution of Apple employees.

"Customers around the world are loving the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, quickly making this the fastest and most successful iPhone launch in history. The Mac set a new all-time record while the rest of the PC market declined," Cook wrote.

Apple posted "the strongest revenue growth rate in seven quarters" according to Cook. Its revenue surged to $42.1 billion thanks to strong sales of its latest iPhones. Apple said it sold 39 million iPhones in Q4, 2014, although its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus hadn't gone on sale in China by then.

State-owned Xinhua News reported that Cook met with Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai on Wednesday and exchanged views on protection of users' information in Zhongnanhai, the central authority's seat.
