(ECNS) -- Shenzhen Airport recently detected a human bocavirus case, Guangdong-based Nanfang Daily reported.
It's the first bocavirus the port has ever experienced.
The patient, a five-year-old boy, was found having fever of 38.9 degree Celsius on a flight from Bangkok, Thailand. A lab test later confirmed the case.
He had reportedly been infected with the virus and hospitalized in Thailand.
Human bocavirus is a parvovirus that has been suggested to be a probable cause of lower respiratory tract infections. Infants and children with the virus are vulnerable to pneumonia, bronchitis and bronchopneumonia.
