(ECNS) -- China's trains are about to get a vintage makeover, according to the Beijing News.
The exterior color of trains, which is mostly red and blue, is to be a unified green by this year's end, although bullet trains will stay white, the report said.
The green color was standard for trains from the 1950s to the 80s. The color was diversified after air-conditioned trains and bullet trains were put into operation.
Nowadays, trains on the Beijing-Tibet line and international routes are green.
Rail authorities said future trains would also conform to the green color.
