Marbury to star in TV show 'New Yorkers in Beijing'

(ECNS) – American basketball player Stephen Marbury said he plans to take part in a TV show called "New Yorkers in Beijing," according to Guangzhou Daily.

The former Suns guard is also to star in a stage play titled "I was Marbury."

"I was Marbury" will cover the 2011-12 season when Marbury led the Beijing Ducks to their first-ever championship. The play will integrate basketball moves into choreographed dance. In "New Yorkers in Beijing," Marbury will share his story on cultural exchanges in China.

Marbury is taking classes in Chinese and theatrical performance to prepare for the shows.

When asked about his Chinese class, Marbury said it's a little harder than he thought it would be. But he said he's making progress and believes he will be able to speak better Chinese the next time he's in Beijing.
