Mr. Bean joins group dance in Shanghai

(ECNS) – British comedian Rowan Atkinson, best known as Mr. Bean in China, has showed off his flexibility at a square dance party in Shanghai.

Atkinson made his first trip to China from Tuesday to Thursday.

"It's a unique experience," Atkinson told reporters, saying the dance was a healthy tradition for old people to exercise together, and that Britain should adopt it.

He said that some Chinese companies have invited him to shoot a movie about a trip by Mr. Bean to China, but that it hasn't been planned yet.

Atkinson said he's lucky to be able to portray Mr. Bean, which has brought him world fame, but that he might stop playing the role because of his physical condition.

The hapless Mr. Bean first appeared in 1990 on a television program, and the first feature film "Bean" was shot in 1997.
