(ECNS) -- Overreacting passengers on a subway train in Shanghai failed to assist a foreign man who had suddenly passed out, Jiefang Daily reported.

No one was injured in the incident, including the foreigner who came round a few minutes later and left alone.

The subway authority called on the public to keep cool when faced by sudden incidents to avoid secondary accidents.

A surveillance video clip revealed that at 9:34 pm on August 9, the foreign man wavered right towards a female passenger and then fell to the ground as the train drew to a halt. Five passengers sitting in front of the man simply ran out the train, causing fellow travellers in other carriages to follow suit.

Last month a cellphone battery exploded on a subway train in the city, startling passengers in the carriage, but causing no injuries or delays.
