(ECNS) – A famous reporter's online comment about a fight between a Chinese mainland couple and several Hong Kong locals has drawn fire from netizens, who have criticized her for concealing part of the information, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

The fight broke out after the mainland couple allowed their baby to urinate in a Hong Kong street.

Rose Luqiu Luwei, a journalist with Phoenix TV, reposted a video of the brawl and said that unpublished footage showed the toddler's father snatch a camera from a passerby, and that the mother had slapped the photographer's face.

The repost has received over 35,000 comments, most of them angry that Luqiu had misrepresented the facts and was biased against mainlanders.

A netizen named Qin Yaowen said the unpublished video revealed that the toddler's mother didn't slap the photographer, and that it is in fact illegal to release a toddler's image online without blurring the face with a mosaic.

Another netizen named Jenny Jun said: "You concealed that the parents had lined up too long for a restroom, that the mother had used a diaper when the toddler urinated, and that the parents snatched the camera because the photographer had shot the kid's private parts."

ShixiaoC commented that Luqiu was partial to Hong Kong locals and had laid all the fault on the mainland couple. "Do you know everything about the incident? Can you understand the feelings of parents with their children? What's your reason for being so biased?"

According to the latest report from Xinhua, Hong Kong police said the toddler's mother, surnamed Fu, did not slap the photographer.

Fu was detained on suspicion of assault, but has been released on bail.
