(ECNS)-- A survey shows that 55 percent of the population in Taiwan regard themselves as Chinese, and the proportion remains stable from surveys in 2013, China Times said on Wednesday.
The result was from a quarterly survey released by a Taipei-based polling company--Apollo Survey and Research Co. Ltd.
Sixty-nine percent of those who view themselves as Chinese said culture and blood ties are the major reasons.
In 2013, the company conducted polls four times covering 4,329 people.
Surveys in 2013 showed that 57 percent of people in Taiwan saw themselves as Chinese.
