(ECNS) – China's product quality watchdog on Saturday released the first blacklist of unqualified imported cosmetics and food this year, with 510 batches of products on the list, including those manufactured by Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), Maybelline, and Arden, according to China National Radio.

The unqualified cosmetics are from 13 countries and regions, including the US, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea and France. Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo and baby bath, Maybelline nails, and Revlon lipsticks failed to match their certificates.

Three batches of Elizabeth Arden's pore refining gel from the US had passed their expiration dates. Smiling's children's toothpaste from Taiwan failed to conform to the national standard. CJ Lion's toothpaste from South Korea contained excessive bacteria. And Secrets De Provence's soaps from France also failed inspection.

Unqualified foods from 47 countries and regions mainly came in the form of biscuits and cakes, dairy products, and beverages.

A number of foreign dairy products trusted by Chinese consumers failed to pass quality inspections as well. Milk and milk powder from Singapore, Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Australia and Poland contained excessive bacteria, had passed their expiration dates, or did not conform to China's national standard.

All the unqualified products have been destroyed or returned.
