(ECNS)— A Chinese woman was able to identify her hometown 24 years after being abducted, thanks to an online map that evoked childhood memories for her, a news website in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region reported.

The woman surnamed Liu said she was abducted when she was seven and has longed to find her parents. She saw a place named "Wantian" on an online map by chance which stirred memories for her.

Wantian is a town in Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, more than 1,000 kilometers away from where she lives in Jiangsu province.

On March 3 this year, Liu went to a police station in the Wantian Yao Ethnic Township and asked for help, but she had scant information.

Luckily, with the help of a villager, Liu at last found her mother and sister.

Liu said she hoped her younger sister, who was abducted at the same time, would also find her way home.
