Bull running wild on street in Chongqing shot dead

(ECNS) -- A bull was shot dead by police after it escaped from its owner and bolted down a busy street in Chongqing, Chongqing Evening News reported on Tuesday.

The 450-kilogram bull escaped as its owner was trying to release it from a cart tied to the bull's body in the city's Shapingba district.

The owner surnamed Li called local police at 5:40 pm. The bull was found standing in the middle of a busy street at 6:30 pm.

A citizen told police that the bull ran at a passing taxicab, and broke the car's headlight before it reached the street.

To keep the bull from escaping again, police parked three police vehicles at the intersection as barricades.

The bull suddenly rushed toward the police cars and broke through the roadblock. It kept running and didn't stop until reaching a path through the fields.

The police finally shot it dead.
