(ECNS) -- A man used a magnet to successfully stop a needle from moving randomly in his wife's body, and the needle was taken out in an operation, dahe.cn said Monday.
The 48-year-old patient, surnamed Liu, lives in Yongcheng city, Henan province. She had suffered from suffocation and fever starting around Spring Festival.
Liu went to a local hospital, and a health examination found a 3-centimeter needle in her chest.
Doctors at the hospital arranged an operation for Liu, and tried to take the needle out. But the needle "disappeared" in the patient's chest right before the operation.
A second check showed that the needle had moved to the patient's abdominal cavity, and it was found in Liu's neck the next day.
To stop the needle from moving, Liu's husband tied a magnet on her neck and stopped it there, and the needle was taken out on Feb 22.
