(ECNS) -- New house buyers in Beijing won't have to rely on developers to get property ownership certificates in the near future, the Beijing News has reported.
The Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has issued a revised draft regulation on property registrations and is seeking public opinions.
According to the draft, Beijing citizens who buy new houses from developers can apply for ownership certificates on their own at any time. Buyers only need to provide their ID cards and contracts.
The current regulation only allows developers to apply for ownership certificates for house-buyers. Besides charging fees, developers are also notorious for delaying applications.
The new regulation will bring convenience to citizens and lift the burden off developers, the commission said.
